Grasping Peacock's Tail in the Four Directions:
Peng (ward-off), lu (roll-back), ji (press), an (push),
1. pivot Left foot step with Right foot. Ward off Right, Roll Back, Press, Push
2. pivot Right foot step 180 degrees with Left foot. Ward off Left, Roll Back, Press, Push
3. pivot Left foot step 90 degrees with Right foot. Ward off Right, Roll Back, Press, Push
4. pivot Right foot step 180 degrees with Left foot. Ward off Left, Roll Back, Press, Push
5. pivot Left foot step 90 degrees with Right foot. Ward off Right, Roll Back, Press, Push
6. pivot Right foot step 180 degrees with Left foot. Ward off Left, Roll Back, Press, Push
7. pivot Left foot step 90 degrees with Right foot. Ward off Right, Roll Back, Press, Push
8. pivot Right foot step 180 degrees with Left foot. Ward off Left, Roll Back, Press, Push
Clue: if the Right foot is in front, turn 180 degrees. If the Left foot is in front turn 90 degrees.

All movements are to the diagonals. You can also begin and pull down from the other direction using the opposite feet and hands. You should do this drill at a brisk pace with fa-jing at the end of each movement. I learned this drill from Alex Dong. |
